Information for the Newcomer
We are a non-profit society, you can help us make a difference. Buy a membership for $50, and become a voting member at our Annual General Meeting, usually held in November. At each AGM, you get a free movie ticket, and are able to hear about the things we’ve accomplished in the past year, and help us decide how to grow over the upcoming year!
Once you have been a member for at least a year, you can be nominated to become a director on our Board. Our nine board members are all volunteers and have an amazing variety of business experiences.

Business: Review of theatre operations. Directors’ report. Auditor’s report. Election of Directors. Draw for a year long movie pass. Any other business arising.
The Nomination Committee has nominated one incumbent (Chelsea Kraft) for re-election and Rosy Mounce and Shelby Harkness to fill openings on the Board left by the retirement of Joan Sholinder and Daila Duford. Any further nominations for directors must be received in writing no later than November 7, 2024, and must be made in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 4.3 of the Bylaws of the Salmar Community Association, a full copy of which is available at salmartheatre.com/membership. Nominations must be addressed to the Nomination Committee, Salmar Community Association, and delivered to the supervisor on duty at the Salmar Grand Cinemas, 100 Hudson Ave. NW, Salmon Arm, during normal theatre operating hours.
